Raiokeigai Kyo(u)

okay…well…As those who know me personally know…My nickname is Kyo…And I say that a man name Akashi Keiji(R.I.P. 5/24/02) gave me my nickname. But what most people don’t know is that he did not name me Kyo. He named me Kyou… I changed it because I do not think I live up to the honor of being named “Today” which is what Kyou means in Japanese…Instead I settled for Kyo which means “Pride”… Maybe one day I’ll change it…I don’t know…it depends on if I feel I live up to it or not…For now “Pride” will do just fine for me.

Now…Also those of you who know me personally know that when I use the first name Kyo…I don the Family name Raiokeigai. I do this for the way the name works…It’s much like how Kyo and Kyou work. same pronunciation…different meaning and different Kanji. One meaning for Raiokeigai is “Lies in Ruin”. The other meaning is almost like a proverb. The second meaning for Raiokeigai is “defeat in the pleasure of meeting”, Which can be taken in many different ways.
